Tower 2 History
Secaucus has a very large Volunteer Fire Department. Tower 2, also know as Clarendon Hook and Ladder, is a vital part of the Secaucus Fire Department. Hose Company No. 2 was organized when a firehouse was built at the corner of 5th & Front Streets around 1900. It was known as Clarendon Hose and Hook & Ladder Co. and became a part of the Secaucus fire department on April 19, 1910 as Clarendon Hose and Hook and Ladder Co. No. 2. It was later moved to its present home on Seventh Street, and is now known as Tower 2.
Tower 2's members are men and women from all walks of life. They all have one thing in common - Giving back to our community and keeping it safe. Tower 2's duties range from containing brush fires, vehicle fires, protecting high-rise buildings, and Hudson Regional Hospital. We respond to house fires, smoke/carbon monoxide detector emergencies, and car accidents on the surrounding roadways such as Route 3, Routes 1/9, and The New Jersey Turnpike.
